I have mature skin and use this product to remove my makeup. It rinses off cleanly and doesn't leave a residue like other oil based products I have used. Recently my 24-year old daughter started experiencing breakouts and because the products she was using were literally stripping the oil from her skin, thus causing her skin to produce more oil and clogging her pores, I suggested she use this to remove her makeup and gently cleanse her skin before cleansing with Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser. The combination has worked beautifully and her skin looks great. This combo might not work for everyone, but I recommend giving it a try.

I never thought I needed a pre cleanse and was hesitant to purchase. After using a sample, I feel in love. This does a wonderful job getting off the makeup so the cleansing gel can do its job and doesn't leave my face dry. I will keep ordering this going forward!
This cleanser takes it all off from waterproof mascara to heavy oils on your skin. The best part is that it is all natural and so gentle on your skin!
I recommend anyone (regardless of skin type) to add this product to their cleansing routine. I have been using it for about 6 years now and never go without it. This product cuts through the oil and dirt on your face and helps your regular cleaner really get your face clean. And surprisingly it does not dry out your skin.
This stuff is great!! I have been using pre cleanse for over 3 years and I can't live with out it. When you start using it, the thought of putting oil in your face is crazy but it cleans your skin and does not dry it out.
My favorite cleansing oil is by Shu Uemura but it costs more than I'm willing to pay. I tried a sample of the Dermalogica Precleanse given to me by a Dermalogica esthetician and really liked it. It had a nice, light consistency so fingers just glide over the skin. I find that oil cleansers with a thicker consistency have too much drag for my liking. It had a wonderful fresh herbal scent that wasn't medicinal. After trying the sample packet, I immediately ordered a full bottle.
My experience of this product is tainted though because the bottle I received didn't have the same fresh scent as the esthetician sample. There was just this faint slightly-weird oil smell. I used it for a while but stopped using it because the smell reminded me of rancid oil. It is packaged in a flip top bottle with a circular pouring opening which makes it hard to control the amount per use. The oil also tends to dribble and gets really messy, which probably contributed to the rancid smell. I wish this came with a pump bottle like the Shu. Some products have packaging that isn't ideal, but I can live with. This one exceeds my tolerance and I would have to pour the product into a pump bottle for actual use. This bothers me because, for the price I'm paying, I want the product to be functional as is. This makes me unlikely to repurchase. Plus I don't want to deal with the possibility of rancid oil. I've since found another cleansing oil that works well for me which is less expensive, so the only reason I would purchase this cleanser is for the scent.
I have had some adverse reactions to skincare products, but haven't had any reactions to the 10 Dermalogica products I've tried so far.
I love this and will never go without! Melts make up wrote off my skin. Mascara too. Leaves my face so soft and smells amazing. You don't always need to use another cleanser after. I feel that this does a good job alone as long as you don't have a lot of makeup on or tons of sunscreen. Great for the gym bag.
This product made me break-out horribly!! My skin hasn't looked this bad in a long time.
I love this! I'm now on to my third bottle. I use it as a first step every night before I bathe to remove make up, sunblock and grime from my face. It has so many good oils in it and the smell is incredibly therapeutic. I use it to massage my face for a little while and then emulsify and wash it off. It does a good job of removing my eye makeup as well. I follow up with the dermalogica special cleansing gel after. Dermalogica is all about double cleansing and I strongly believe in it.
I have dry skin and usually wear an oil-free silicone-based foundation. Somehow, this takes it off well and my skin has looked so much better since I've started using it! I did have a bit of a learning curve with it (about .5 teaspoon rub all over face, then add maybe .25 teaspoon and rub all over adding just a little water at a time until it's white and creamy but not running off). I do have dry, sensitive skin and this does dry my skin out a little more so I use the LRP Tolariane Dermo after using it, but I can deal with it since my skin looks clearer and more even-toned in the 6 months I've been using it. It lasts a really long time too. One bottle lasts me about 4 months (though I don't wear makeup every day... maybe about 4 days per week).
